Programmable Gain Amplifier is optimized for DOCSIS 3.0.
July 3, 2008 -
Operating in 5-85 MHz frequency range, Model ARA2017 supports DOCSIS 3.0-specified signal levels of +64 dBmV while minimizing harmonic distortion and output noise levels. Linear amplifier features 33 dB of RF gain at minimum attenuation, and includes digitally controlled, multi-stage precision step attenuator that provides up to 58 dB of attenuation in 2 dB increments. Requiring single 5 V supply, device is offered in 28-pin 5 x 5 x 1 mm QFN package.

ANADIGICS Announces First Programmable Gain Amplifier Optimized for DOCSIS 3.0
New Highly Linear, High Output Power Upstream Solution for Cable Modems and E-MTA Applications
WARREN, N.J., June 25 - ANADIGICS, Inc. (NASDAQ:ANAD) today launched its ARA2017, the first programmable gain amplifier optimized for DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem and E-MTA applications. This new device supports high linear power levels, which enable channel bonding and thus higher data rates in the cable system upstream (return) path.
"ANADIGICS is always proud to announce an industry first," reports Ron Michels, Senior Vice President and General Manager of ANADIGICS' Broadband Business. "The ARA2017 is an example of our firm commitment to developing products ahead of the technology curve, and its performance allows cable system operators to provide higher two-way data rates and enhanced service offerings to their customers."
The ARA2017 is integral to the performance of DOCSIS 3.0 terminal products, and is used by multiple vendors in cable modems that were certified for DOCSIS 3.0 usage, based on recent testing at CableLabs®.
