Linear Position Sensors suit long stroke applications.

July 31, 2008 - LP 750 Series ¾ in. dia sensors are offered with pre-calibrated loop-powered 4-20 input/output (Model LPIR) or nominal 24 Vdc input 0-10 Vdc output (Model LPER). They are available in ranges of 4-25 in., and have maximum linearity error of ±0.25% of full-scale output. Constructed of stainless steel and hermetically sealed against hostile environments to IEC standard IP-68, units can operate in harsh and corrosive environments.

Potentiometer Replacement Position Sensors Offer High Stroke to Length Advantage for Hydraulic Cylinder Positioning

Pennsauken, NJ, June 23, 2008 - Macro Sensors (www.macrosensors.com) introduces a new series of ¾" (19 mm) diameter hermetically sealed position sensors that offer an infinite cycle life to serve as long-life replacements for failing potentiometers in a wide range of industrial position measurement applications such as machine tool positioning, hydraulic cylinder positioning, valve position sensing and automatic assembly equipment.

Offering a favorable ratio of a short sensor body length to sensor range, the LP 750 Series Linear Position Sensors are ideal for long stroke applications where sensor length needs to be essentially the same length as the stroke of the device. For example, LP 750 Series Position Sensors can be implemented for "in cylinder" use within hydraulic rams of construction equipment that require sensors with a significant stroke to length advantage (0.75% to 0.9%) and robustness in environmental extremes.

Because the LP 750 Series Linear Position Sensors are constructed entirely of stainless steel and hermetically sealed against hostile environments to IEC standard IP-68, units can operate in harsh and corrosive environments with high reliability. And with no parts to wear out, these frictionless position sensors offer infinite cycle life for greater performance and reliability than pots.

Available in standard ranges of 4" (100 mm) to 25" (600 mm), Macro Sensors LP750 Series Linear Position Sensors are offered with a pre-calibrated loop-powered 4-20 input/output (Model LPIR) or a nominal 24V DC input 0 to 10 V DC output (Model LPER). In addition to high resolution, excellent repeatability and low hysteresis, the LP 750 Series Position Sensors have a maximum linearity error of ±0.25% of full-scale output.
