Capital Safety Introduces Rollgliss® SRL Rescue Device

RED WING, Minn. - June 10, 2008 - DBI-SALA, a Capital Safety brand, introduces the Rollgliss® SRL Rescue Device, which provides quick and efficient rescue for a worker who has fallen while using a cable self retracting lifeline (SRL) for personal fall protection. This device is ideal for remote locations and for situations in which emergency response teams may not be readily available.

Rescue situations are high-risk environments that require rescuers to act quickly. The Rollgliss® SRL Rescue Device can be installed and ready for use in less than one minute. It can be anchored in-line to the SRL cable, to a separate anchor or to the SRL housing by using the included anchoring chain.

"In a rescue situation, every second counts," states Charley Bryant, product marketing manager for hardgoods with Capital Safety. "Regulations state that medical aid should be provided to fall victims within four minutes of the fall. The Rollgliss® SRL Rescue Device allows rescuers to meet this requirement while offering quick assembly and ease of use."

After the rescuer has anchored the Rollgliss® SRL Rescue Device, he or she can lift the victim by pumping the handle. The device has an approximate lifting ration of 6:1; the victim is raised approximately 5 inches per stroke. The device is designed for a single user with a capacity of 420 lbs.
