CIT RELAY & SWITCH Offers RoHS Automotive A2S Series Relay with Weatherproof Shroud

DATE: May 22, 2008

Minneapolis, Minnesota - CIT RELAY & SWITCH announces immediate availability of its newest automotive A2S Series shrouded relay. With switching capacity to 40A, these automotive relays offer contact arrangement options of SPST N.O., SPST N.C. The A2S Series coil voltage options are 6VDC, 12VDC and 24VDC with coil power choices of 1.6W and 1.9W to maximize battery life. This rugged relay is sealed, immersion cleanable. Features include mounting bracket and quick connect termination (6.3mm - .250mm). Offering contact resistance of <30 milliohms initially, the maximum switching power is 630 watt with max switching voltage of 75VDC. CIT QS9000 and ISO9002 certified manufacturing insures quality and continuous reliability. Standard, RoHS lead free, environmentally friendly (no cadmium) contacts are AgSnO2.

Tested electrical life of the A2S Series is 100K cycles with mechanical life of 10M cycles. Insulation resistance is 100MW at 500VDC. The dielectric strength of the A2S Series coil to contact is 750Vrms minimum at sea level and contact to contact is 500Vrms. Shock resistance is 147m/s² for 11 minutes with vibration resistance of 1.5mm double amplitude 10~40Hz. Copper alloy terminal strength is 8N on the Quick Connect A2S relay. Operating temperature of -40°C to 85°C and storage temperature of -40°C to 155°C. Solderability is 260°C for 5 seconds. The A2S Series measures in at 35.7mm x 35.7mm x 66.2mm.

The A2S Series relay applications include automotive and lamp accessories: ABS Control, blower fan, car alarm, cooling fan, electric power steering, energy management, engine control, fuel pump, trunk lock, window control along with numerous others. Volume pricing ranges from $1.10 dependent upon coil, contact configuration, and volume. CIT RELAY & SWITCH lead-time is stock to 10 weeks.
