Bomar's New V-Bite(TM) Edgeboard Connector Features a Waterproof and Weather-Tight Seal for Outdoor RF Applications

Female Type N Connector Provides Superior Manufacturing Tolerances to Ensure Excellent Performance in Frequencies through 18 GHz

Ledgewood, NJ, May 28, 2008 - Bomar Interconnect Products, Inc. announced the addition of a sealed female Type N connector to their proprietary line of RoHS-compliant V-Bite(TM) RF edgeboard connectors. Designed to deliver unsurpassed signal integrity in the most demanding RF applications, this high-performance Type N connector is ideally suited for outdoor antennas and portable test equipment as it features a weather-tight, waterproof, through-panel mount seal. Notably, the coax connector is engineered with a silicone ring on the inside of the panel or box to create a robust seal when the nut is tightened from the front. The sealed part, along with the full V-Bite Series, boasts an extremely low profile (½ the connector's diameter) and small footprint. It further provides the utmost in anti-rotation abilities to ensure the stability and reliability of connections. V-Bites simply snap and lock in place for secure PCB retention during hand or reflow soldering, and are supported from above and below the board to disperse rotational torque relief to minimize stress on the solder area. In addition to the new sealed female Type N connector, the ten-member V-Bite Series consists of standard male and female Type N versions, Type F, threaded through-panel BNC and standard BNC, along with twin BNC, Mini-BNC, Twin BNC and TNC styles.

Offered in an impedance of 50W, sealed female Type N V-Bites are engineered for use in outdoor RF applications demanding a durable, waterproof, weather-tight connection in which consistent performance through 18 GHz is required. Parts are easily attached to printed circuit boards for acceptance of cable or antenna terminations, and can be employed in an array of outdoor high power applications including base stations, cellular antennas, broadcast, SATcom, microwave radio, radar, and portable test and measurement equipment.

Featuring brass/gold contacts, Bomar's V-Bites are precision engineered of machined brass, and feature a straight-through contact design to provide an extremely low reflection factor with a VSWR of 1.30. Parts are supplied with a Teflon dielectric to facilitate reflow soldering, and are offered in an extensive selection of custom mechanical configurations.

OEM pricing for Bomar's sealed female Type N V-Bite connectors starts at $8.40 each in quantities of 1,000. While delivery is from stock to 12 weeks, samples are immediately available.
