Gas Detector offers aftermarket explosion protection.

June 2, 2008 - Gascheka(TM) self-calibrating multigas detection system can pro-actively shut down electric/IC powered industrial equipment before ignitable levels of flammable gas/vapors develop around equipment. It does not rely on user's ability/judgment to turn off equipment when there is accidental spill/release of flammable gas, vapors, or liquids. Designed to be installed on equipment that is not EX certified, unit is used in and around facilities that handle Class 1 flammable gas and liquids.

Aftermarket Explosion Protection System for Industrial Equipment

PYROBAN®, a global leader in explosion and environmental protection has developed a solution that offers aftermarket explosion protection opportunities to a large number of industrial equipment.

Gascheka(TM) is a self calibrating multi gas detection system that will PRO-ACTIVELY shut down electric or IC powered industrial equipment before ignitable levels of flammable gas or vapors can develop around the equipment. Unlike fixed or personal gas detection systems, Gascheka(TM) does not rely on an operator's ability or judgment to turn off equipment when there is an accidental spill or release of flammable gas, vapors or liquids.

Once Gascheka(TM) detects an increase in flammable materials it will sound a visible and audible alarm at 10% LEL (Level Explosive Level). If the Gas continues to build Gascheka(TM) will shut down the equipment automatically at 20% LEL, eliminating up to 90% of all the potential equipment ignition sources.

Gascheka(TM) should be installed on all equipment that is not EX certified and which is used in and around facilities that handle Class 1 flammable materials (gas and liquids). This includes ES, EE, DS, DY, GS, LPS, CNS and CS rated equipment which is often (mis)used to handle flammable materials in a range of applications. It is shocking to know that today the NFPA 505 and OSHA 1910.178 still recommend the use of industrial equipment with these labels in explosion hazardous areas even though they know that it has not tested and certified for this purpose.

Gascheka(TM) is FM (Factory Mutual) certified for the use in Class 1, Division 2, Groups C&D explosion hazardous areas.
