Sangoma Develops New Hybrid Concept in Telephony Cards
Sangoma Develops New Hybrid Concept in Telephony Cards -Sangoma FlexBRI Prototype Wins VoIP Product of the Year at Asterisk TAG Berlin
TORONTO, CANADA and BERLIN, GERMANY -- (May 27, 2008) - Sangoma® Technologies Corporation (TSX VENTURE:STC), the premium provider of PC-based hardware and software for proprietary and open source networking and telephony solutions, today announced its FlexBRI card. This new hybrid concept is the first in a series of mixed modular designs to be announced, which will allow customers to combine analog and digital signals on one interface card. The prototype of the FlexBRI has won VoIP Product of the Year at this year's Asterisk TAG, Berlin.
This specific card was designed in response to customer demands in Germany for a BRI card that supports a fax machine or other analog device, and fits comfortably in a small 1U server. Small office and home offices will benefit from a single integrated solution that has none of the signaling issues found on competitive cards and will support synchronous clocking on all channels for 100% guaranteed error-free faxing. The FlexBRI will support up to four ports of BRI and two ports of FXO or FXS Analog.
"The German market is an important one for Sangoma, and strategic in our European growth," said Sangoma's VP of Sales and Marketing, Doug Vilm. "More and more customers are becoming accustomed to a responsiveness to their needs, and products with a level of quality and innovation that others simply cannot duplicate."
The card will share the same analog FXO/FXS and BRI modules with Sangoma's successful A200, A400, and A500 cards, so Empowered by Sangoma channel partners will not need to stock more part numbers.
Sangoma's AFT product line provides the foundation for voice, data and video applications including legacy PBX, IVR, auto attendant, next generation gateways, media servers and application servers. Sangoma enables the PC to deliver superior auditory quality when communicating with public telephone networks. Sangoma technology works with proprietary technology and a variety of open source software, including: Asterisk®, FreeSwitch(TM), CallWeaver(TM), and Yate(TM).
The FlexBRI is expected to be ready in production quantities in early fall.
