FireWire Cable is designed for long distance use.

June 4, 2008 - Suited for machine vision applications, Chainflex® CFBUS.055 FireWire cable is designed for continuous-flexing and tight bending radii inside Energy Chain® cable carriers. Its bus pairs and supply wires are twisted together with flexible shields and optimized pitch length. Gusset-filling extruded, flame-resistant, TPE outer jacket provides protection required to prevent cable core ruptures. Tested to more than 6 million flex cycles, product supports transmission lengths up to 20 m.

Industrial Firewire Cable for Longer Distances

igus offers continuous-flex Firewire cables for machine vision applications

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - April 16, 2008- igus® has announced it offers continuous-flex FireWire cables for longer distance machine vision applications.

Industrial standard FireWire cables typically fail prematurely over long distances because they are not designed with constant flexing in mind. igus has solved this problem with a combination of its specially constructed Chainflex® CFBUS.055 FireWire cable and its Energy Chain® cable carriers.

CFBUS.055 FireWire is designed for continuous-flexing and tight bending radii inside a cable carrier. Its bus pairs and supply wires are twisted together with flexible shields and an optimized pitch length. The gusset-filling extruded, flame-resistant, TPE outer jacket provides the protection the cable needs to prevent core ruptures.

The FireWire cable is tested to more than six million flex cycles. Transmission lengths up to 20 meters are possible. Harnesses can be assembled in standard and custom lengths. The cables are USA and Canadian UL compliant.
