Metal Coating suits UV curing and printing applications.
May 29, 2008 -
Designed to maximize curing wavelengths between 220-400 nm and minimize rest of visible and IR spectrum from 450-2200 nm, UV Spectral Metal features MicroDynŽ sputtering technology and is used as reflector behind curing lamp. Stable over temperature/humidity changes, it is coated onto highly polished, standard size aluminum sheets. With ability to customize/fabricate products after coating, long trough reflectors for inline exposure systems can be created using multiple lengths of product.

Deposition Sciences, Inc. Introduces Spectral Metal for UV Curing and UV Printing Applications
May 16, 2008 Santa Rosa, CA - Deposition Sciences, Inc. (DSI), manufacturer of highly durable thin film optical coatings, announces a new product in their Spectral Metal hybrid coating family, the UV Spectral Metal. Developed for ultraviolet (UV) curing and UV printing industries, the highly durable, advanced dichroic metal coating is used as the reflector behind the curing lamp. It is specially designed to maximize the curing wavelengths between 220 nm and 400 nm and minimize the rest of the visible and infrared (IR) spectrum from 450 nm to 2200 nm.
DSI's UV Spectral Metal is coated onto highly polished, standard size aluminum sheets. The sheets are then cut and formed to specific sizes and shapes per customer requirements. Mounting features such as slots, screw holes and tabs can be formed into the mirror after coating. The cut mirrors can be further customized and formed into precise curves and cylinders with radii as small as 25 mm. These features can significantly reduce the complexity and cost of assembly into the finished product.
With the ability to customize and fabricate products after coating, long trough reflectors for inline exposure systems (e.g. UV curing tasks) can be easily created using multiple lengths of the UV Spectral Metal. These spectrally-selective coated metal lengths are placed into a frame to hold their shape and are then fabricated into reflectors that are several meters long.
DSI's proprietary MicroDynŽ sputtering technology yields high performance UV Spectral Metal. This highly durable and uniform coating is extremely stable over temperature and humidity changes, making it ideal for applications that require robust and long-lasting spectral metal coatings.
Deposition Sciences, Inc. (DSI) Santa Rosa, CA www.depsci.com - For over 20 years, Deposition Sciences has produced the most durable optical thin film filter coatings in the industry. DSI's coating capability ranges from the ultraviolet (UV), through the visible and includes near-infrared (NIR), midwave-infrared (MWIR) and out to the longwave-infrared (LWIR). At the heart of these capabilities is DSI's patented MicroDyn reactive sputtering technology enabling superior multilayer thin film coatings for optics, MEMS and other thin film technologies.
