Digital Cameras are designed for machine vision applications.


May 30, 2008 - With compact size of 45 x 45 x 39 mm and field-upgradeable firmware, BOBCAT Series of cameras include various sensors and frame rates, Kodak VGA at 120 and 210 frames/sec, Sony 1.4 M at 24 frames/sec, Sony 2.0 M at 16 frames/sec, and 5.0 M at 15 frames/sec. They have horizontal and vertical binning at 2, 3, and 4x, fully programmable 12-bit look-up-tables, defective pixel correction, and flat field correction. Other features include auto tap balancing and auto gain control.

Imperx's New BOBCAT Series: Compact, Feature-Rich Digital Cameras for Machine Vision


May 22, 2008, Boca Raton, Fla. Imperx Inc. will introduce its new BOBCAT series of cameras at the Vision East 2008 Show. BOBCAT is a new line of compact (45mm x 45mm x 39mm), feature-rich Camera Link cameras designed to address the needs of a wide range of Machine Vision applications.

The BOBCAT series offers a common platform for all of its camera models, regardless of speed and resolution. All models share the same size, features and command set, making it easier for end users to easily switch or upgrade BOBCAT models to meet the needs of new vision applications.

With its compact size, field-upgradeable firmware, high-quality images and impressive set of features, the BOBCAT series is also an ideal choice for users who want to migrate to digital imaging, or to enhance the features of existing digital systems.

The BOBCAT series initially includes the following sensors and frame rates: Kodak VGA @ 120 fps and 210 fps, Sony 1.4M @ 24 fps, Sony 2.0M @ 16 fps, and 5.0M @ 15 fps. Other BOBCAT models will follow, and will be announced at a later date.

BOBCAT cameras come equipped with a robust feature set that includes:
o Horizontal and Vertical Binning at 2x, 3x and 4x
o Multiple Programmable Areas of Interest
o Fully programmable 12-bit Look-up-Tables
o Defective Pixel Correction
o Flat Field Correction
o Digital and Analog Gain and Offset
o Auto Tap Balancing
o Auto Gain Control
o Auto Exposure Control
o 8 Triggering Modes w/built-in programmable timing generator
o Multiple inputs and outputs for control
