MOSFET Drivers integrate adjustable LDO.

May 19, 2008 - Models MAX15024/MAX15025 high-speed, single/dual MOSFET gate drivers operate from 4.5-28 V supply and can withstand transients up to 30 V. They feature propagation-delay matching of 2 nsec between channels, and less than 17 nsec from part to part. Offered in 3 x 3 mm TDFN package, devices are fully specified over -40 to 125°C automotive temperature range. Model MAX15024 sinks 8 A and sources 4 A of peak current, while Model MAX15025 sinks and sources 4 A of peak current.

Highest Performance, Single/Dual MOSFET Drivers Integrate an Adjustable LDO in a Tiny TDFN

Single/Dual, 16ns, High Sink/Source Current Gate Drivers

o The MAX15024/MAX15025 are single/dual, 16ns, MOSFET gate drivers capable of sinking/sourcing high currents.
o These devices offer the industry's best performance in the smallest package.
o Consuming only 9mm² of board space, the single MAX15024 sinks 8A and sources 4A of peak current, while the dual MAX15025 sinks and sources 4A of peak current.
o The MAX15024/MAX15025 are ideal for power-supply modules, switching power supplies, and synchronous rectifier drivers.

SUNNYVALE, CA-March 24, 2008-Maxim Integrated Products (Pink Sheets: MXIM) introduces the MAX15024/MAX15025 high-speed, single/dual MOSFET drivers in a thermally enhanced, 3mm x 3mm, TDFN package. The MAX15024 is a single gate driver capable of sinking up to 8A and sourcing up to 4A of peak current. The MAX15025 is a dual gate driver capable of sinking and sourcing up to 4A of peak current. Both devices have propagation-delay matching of typically 2ns between channels, and usually less than 17ns from part to part. An integrated adjustable LDO provides gate-driver amplitude control and optimization. The MAX15024/MAX15025 are ideal for use in power MOSFET switching, motor control, and ultra-compact, high-frequency switching power supplies.

The MAX15024/MAX15025 operate from a 4.5V to 28V supply voltage and can withstand transients up to 30V. Moreover, the inverting and noninverting logic inputs are designed to operate at up to 22V, regardless of the VCC supply voltage. The devices include a logic circuit to prevent internal shoot-through current during output-state change. They are available with either CMOS or TTL logic-level inputs.

The MAX15024/MAX15025 are fully specified over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range. They are available in a 3mm x 3mm, 10-pin TDFN package with an exposed pad that is capable of dissipating up to 2W at +70°C ambient temperature. Prices start at $1.01 (1000-up, FOB USA).

Maxim Integrated Products, a two billion dollar company, designs and manufactures ICs for analog and mixed-signal applications. The company's broad portfolio of 28 product categories is among the industry's deepest, with over 5400 products.
