Model ML2726 is low power, low-IF, frequency shift key RF transceiver that incorporates sigma-delta fractional-N synthesizer, VCO, up/down-conversion mixers, data slicer, and transceiver configuration registers. Offering 2 Mbps data transmission rate, unit delivers -81 dBm sensitivity at 0.1% bit error rate. It also features analog/digital data output, digital transmit data input, and received signal strength indication output. Integrated power regulation enables 2.7-4.5 V operation.
GREENSBORO, N.C., May 1 - RF Micro Devices, (Nasdaq GS: RFMD), a global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance radio frequency systems and solutions, today introduced the ML2726 ISM band transceiver. The ML2726 is a low power, low-IF, frequency shift key (FSK) transceiver designed for operation in the license-free 2.4 GHz ISM band. The ML2726 reference design enables consumer product original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to quickly bring to market products featuring wireless data connectivity for multiple applications, including game controllers, PC peripherals, automatic meter reading, security systems, telemetry and point-of-sale vending equipment.
The ML2726 is a highly integrated RF transceiver incorporating a sigma-delta fractional-N synthesizer, voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), upconversion and downconversion mixers, data slicer and transceiver configuration registers. By offering a market-leading 2 Mbps data transmission rate, the ML2726 minimizes average power consumption, leading to longer battery life in portable applications. Additionally, the ML2726 incorporates self-alignment of the low-IF receiver and phase locked loop (PLL) detection and control, both easing implementation and eliminating the cumbersome mass production tuning process which is customary with competing transceiver solutions.
Technical features of the ML2726 include:
o Closed-loop transmit FSK modulation
o Analog and digital data output
o Digital transmit data input
o Digital received signal strength indication (RSSI) output
o Integrated power regulation enabling 2.7 to 4.5 V operation
o -81 dBm sensitivity at 0.1% bit error rate (BER)
