Wire Cutting/Stripping Machines use sensors for precise setup.

April 17, 2008 - Kappa 350 and Kappa 330 incorporate sensor-based inductive measuring system for automatically detecting wire diameters to simplify cut and strip setup. Kappa 350 carries double-blade design for processing round conductors with cross section of up to 120 mm˛ and max outside dia of up to 35 mm. Kappa 330 is designed for processing cables with up to 35 mm˛ cross section, multi-core conductors with outside dia up to 16 mm, or flat cables of up to 40 mm in width.

Kappa 330 and 350 from Komax

April 10, 2008

New Sensor Technology Aids Cut and Strip Setup

New sensor technology gives the new Kappa cutting and stripping machines from Komax a powerful advantage for easy setup while resulting in less wire waste.

Wire diameters are automatically detected by sensors using an inductive measuring system. This significantly shortens the setup and tool-less changeover times while reducing the chance of operator errors.

The Kappa 350 carries a double-blade design for processing round conductors with a cross section of up to 120mm˛ and a maximum outside diameter of up to 35mm. The powerful belt drive ensures gentle processing across the entire cross section range. The sensors are combined with a length measuring encoder to provide optimum process monitoring and accuracy. Zero-cuts are automatically minimized.

The Kappa 330 is designed for processing cables with a cross section of up to 35mm˛, multi-core conductors with an outside diameter of up to 16mm or flat cables with a width of up to 40mm. A belt drive or various double-roller drives are available to meet requirements.

Both units use the intuitive TopTouch software modeled after the Komax TopWin(TM) interface, Also, both can be optimized with a full array of optional add-ons.
