New Jessup Exit Signs Offer Zero Energy Solution

Glo Brite® Eco Exit(TM) photoluminescent signs are ecologically friendly and economically priced

MCHENRY, Ill., April 8, 2008 -- Jessup Manufacturing Company has introduced its new Glo Brite® Eco Exit(TM) safety signs that consume no energy and need no maintenance, reducing costs and the carbon footprint for building owners.

North America's leading manufacturer of photoluminescent safety products, Jessup's new Eco Exit(TM) line includes single-sided and double-sided configurations with multiple mounting options. Leading the way is the new PM 100 which boasts a 100-foot viewing distance, setting a new standard in the energy efficient exit signage market.

"Ecologically, there is nothing more green and economical than these signs, since they have no overhead costs," said Alan M. Carlson, vice president marketing support and business development for Jessup. "With no wiring to run or bulbs and batteries to replace, our new Glo Brite® Eco Exit(TM) signs offer architects, contractors and building owners a simple, inexpensive and ecologically friendly solution for high visibility building exit signs."

Exit signs are an easy choice for reducing carbon footprints in an effort to create greener buildings. A building with 100 photoluminescent signs will save more than $3,500 a year in energy costs and reduce air pollution by almost a half a million pounds of CO2 compared with incandescent signs over the life of the product.

The Eco Exit(TM) signs not only show that going green does not have to be expensive, they are UL 924 Listed and are non-toxic, so there are no disposal issues common with tritium signs that utilize radioactive materials.

According to the Federal Energy Management Program, the best available exit sign products use photoluminescent technology. Furthermore, the program directs federal agencies not to purchase incandescent light bulb or tritium exit signs and instructs facility managers to replace them immediately.

"Jessup offers the market the most choices, the best technology, and the highest value in eco-friendly, economically priced exit signage," said Carlson. "The new models reflect our market-leading commitment to bring better and more affordable green solutions to the building market."
