Video Card transports HD video over IP networks.

April 4, 2008 - Using JPEG-2000 codec and 48 kHz audio for clear sound, High-Definition Digital Video Peripheral module can transport multiple simultaneous HD video flows with zero packet loss. It accepts digital and analog audio and video, seamlessly encoding them for transport. Unit maintains full image resolution and 30 fps frame rate. PCequipped with Video Endpoint Client software can either view live video stream or play back stored file from archive.

Rivulet's HD Card Provides Production-Quality Video over IP Networks

Rivulet enables medical facilities, government agencies and video producers to transport HD video, reliably and flawlessly, without costly bandwidth upgrades

HERNDON, Va., March 31 / -- Rivulet Communications, whose technology dramatically improves real-time video performance over Ethernet and Internet Protocol (IP) networks, today announced the availability of its High- Definition Digital Video Peripheral (HD DVP) module. The HD DVP is the only video-over-IP solution that can transport multiple simultaneous HD video flows with zero packet loss, without the need for costly bandwidth upgrades.

"The addition of HD to our field-proven video transport and storage solutions provides our customers with easy migration to HD technology on their timetable," said Ed Kennedy, Rivulet CEO. "Rivulet's HD DVP provides the highest video quality, lowest latency and guaranteed delivery that our customers have come to expect from our products.

In medical applications, the HD DVP card makes medical video anywhere on the network a reality. Hospitals can send images from high-definition medical cameras and endoscopes across their existing IP networks simply by adding HD DVP-equipped Rivulet products at video generation or viewing endpoints. The HD DVP accepts digital and analog audio and video, seamlessly encoding the video for transport. Rivulet's patented Dynamic Synchronization Technology (DST) process is then used to ensure the delivery of broadcast-quality video anywhere on the network. In addition, the availability of HD provides many benefits to surgeons as it can reduce fatigue and improve depth perception.

A personal computer equipped with Rivulet's Video Endpoint Client (VEC) software can either view the live video stream as it happens, or play back a stored file from an archive. Playback of stored files though VEC carries with it the added benefit of video controls that include frame-by- frame viewing, the ability to take snapshots of particular frames, and slow-motion

The Rivulet HD DVP module:

o uses the highly-regarded JPEG-2000 codec and 48kHz audio for ultra-
clear sounds
o provides very low latency for life-like conferencing experience
o transports over the network at standard HD
o maintains full image resolution and 30 fps frame rate end-to-end
o provides dramatically better video and audio quality than
videoconferencing and MPEG
o handles HD-SDI, DVI and analog video connections; analog audio
connections
o prevents the degraded performance that can result from even a small
volume of real-time traffic over IP networks

Rivulet is unique in its ability to reliably deliver real-time HD over IP networks with extremely high quality. Without Rivulet's technology, HD video is very difficult for IP networks to handle. The high data rate of HD flows increases the likelihood of traffic contention and packet loss, which destroys video quality. Rivulet solves the problem and delivers perfect video over IP, using patented DST to prevent contention on the network.

Rivulet Communications will be demonstrating the HD DVP solution in booth 287 at the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) 55th Annual Congress at the Anaheim Convention Center April 1-3.
