Compact, Wide Input (2:1), 3W DC- DC Converters Achieves No-Load Power Consumption of 100mW Providing Exceptional Energy-Efficiency

March 31, 2008 Aimtec, a global supplier of DC-DC power converters, expands its low output power AMxG-Z series with the 3 watt AM3G-Z series of single and dual output DC-DC switching power supplies with operating temperature range -40ºC to + 85ºC. With output currents of up to 600mA delivered to a regulated output voltage range of 5 to 15V, at high efficiency rates of up to 81%, the AM3G-Z series is ideally suited for portable power management applications, in addition to other telecom, microcontrollers, DSPs industrial process systems, remote or battery backed systems, test/lab instrumentation, robotic systems and board level power distribution subsystems, datacom and transportation equipment applications.

Versatile, single and dual output modules are available in wide 2:1 input ranges of 9-18V and 18-36V with I/O isolation of 1500VDC within a compact SIP8 package, making this converter an ideal drop-in replacement for existing designs. As with the AM1G-Z and AM2G-Z series, Aimtec's AM3G-Z series features many functional advantages, including continuous short circuit protection and remote on/off control. Designed to allow the output voltage to shut-off without shutting down the input voltage, the remote ON/OFF function in Aimtec's AM3G-Z series supports applications where conservation of the device's power consumption is required and/or there is a need for the power supplies to switch ON and OFF according to the needed algorithm. Single output models offer the additional output noise reduction (CS) pin allowing an external capacitor to be connected. (recommended values available in the online datasheet).

Made with high quality, RoHS compliant materials that undergo rigorous quality control to ensure reliability and performance.

Samples available from stock and can be ordered immediately.
