RF Upconverter can handle input signals up to +8 dBm.


March 28, 2008 - Operating at 6 Vdc, Model RF2-3000UCV1 multi-octave upconverter features IF input ranging from 2-70 MHz to provide RF upconversion between 2 MHz and 3 GHz with gain flatness under 2 dB for specified spectrum. It has 50 dB of attenuation control with incremental steps of 0.5 dB and 5 kHz frequency step size. Packaged in ruggedized aluminum enclosure measuring 1.0 x 2.5 x 3.5 in., unit can be used in variety of applications, and also on bench as stand alone RF signal generator.

Ultra Versatile, Multi-Octave RF Upconverter Delivers High Performace Specifications for 2 MHz to 3 GHz RF Systems and Subsystems


Middletown, Ohio, March 12, 2008 - A new high performance, multi-octave RF upconverter delivers a spectrally pure RF output yielding a highly flexible input and output frequency range selection. The RF2-3000UCV1 model offers the end user design versatility.

The IF input ranges from 2 MHz to 70 MHz to provide a RF upconversion between 2 MHz and 3 GHz with gain flatness under 2 dB for the specified spectrum. Delivering on performance, the IF input boasts high dynamic range and user selectable bandwidths. The RF2-3000UCV1 upconverter has 50 dB of attenuation control with incremental steps of 0.5 dB. The frequency step size is 5 kHz.

The device can handle input signals up +8 dBm. The RF upconverter operates at 6 VDC. SMA connectors are provided for ease of use. The module is packaged in a small-form-factor ruggedized aluminum enclosure measuring only 1.0" x 2.5" x 3.5". This RF2-3000UCV1 upconverter can be used in variety of applications including, satellite TV, cellular, waveform generators, communication systems, exciters, software defined radios (SDR), Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), and in test and laboratory systems.

The RF upconverter can be used on the bench as a stand alone RF signal generator. NuWaves Engineering is offering a development kit to assist users in getting up-and-running fast. The kit includes hardware, cables, and verbose software which will provide a user friendly GUI. The GUI provides a simple and fast means to setup many of the parameters such as LO frequencies, attenuation control, bandwidth selection, and much more right from your PC.

Availability of the development kit is planned for Q1 '08. Prices for the kit start at $4,999 USD.
