To meet ever increasing demand for improved product protection in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, the world's leading metal detector supplier Lock Inspection Systems of the UK and USA is offering the MET 30+ Universal Pharmaceutical metal detector. This highly sensitive unit has been validated by, and supplied to multinational corporations across North America, Europe and now increasingly the Asia-Pacific countries, including the world's six leading pharmaceuticals producers.
Lock's MET 30+ Pharmaceutical boasts sophistication and cutting-edge technology that is unrivalled in the sector. As a result, it consistently identifies and removes even the smallest metal contamination, including the purest stainless steels. Furthermore, with a product throughput capacity of up to 30,000 tablets per minute and full stainless steel construction, the MET 30+ is designed to withstand the most demanding production and cleaning conditions in the industry.
Lock's state of the art processor and software permits the automatic set up and storage of up to 100 different product types and retains the data digitally in the detector's memory. Consequently, the system analyses and records the profile of products which are conductive, ensuring optimum sensitivity and low product wastage are achieved even when inspecting traditionally 'challenging' products such as high-iron content tablets.
The MET 30+ can be equipped with a user-friendly touchscreen panel incorporating Lock's ADC software which provides a unique 'window into the detector' and allows the operator to view all data graphically on the machine interface itself, providing a valuable powerful on-screen diagnostic and training tool. Additionally, all the setup and detection information can be downloaded to a printer, PC or local computer network via the system's integral communication port, which permits recording, storage and analysis of the detection data. Finally, detailed validation manuals can be provided and customised to specific detectors, ensuring that stringent quality control documentation requirements are met.
Lock can also configure the MET 30+ as a vertical-fall system for removing contamination from powders or prior to sachet-filling. This version has a sealed-valve reject mechanism, which will prevent product leakages and cross-contamination when changing from one live ingredient to another, whilst also protecting the integrity of pharmaceutical products and safeguarding operators against inhaling airborne dust.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers facing pressure to comply with 21 CFR, Part 11 can now turn to Lock Inspection Systems for metal detection solutions. Lock has collaborated with industry experts to develop software that enables metal detection systems to deliver highly accurate inspection of tablets, capsules and granules whilst at the same time meeting the electronic records and electronic signature requirements of the FDA. The software can be accessed from either a PC panel integrated into Lock's MET 30+ Pharmaceutical unit or a remote PC.
Lock Inspection Systems has supplied metal detection and checkweighing equipment to companies in the pharmaceutical, food and packaging industries for over fifty years and counts many key industry players amongst its customers. Headquartered in the UK, with offices in the USA, Australia, France and the Netherlands, Lock has a global network of distributors and high calibre maintenance and research teams.
