Komatsu Backhoe Loaders Built for Exceptional Productivity and Durability
Parallel Loader Lift Linkage And "S" Shaped Boom Add Stability, Visibility And Increased Lift
Rolling Meadows, IL, For CONEXPO - CON/AGG 2008 - Komatsu America Corp.'s WB146-5 and the WB146PS-5 backhoe loaders with an operating weight range of 16,090 lbs to 18,740 lbs and with a large loader bucket of 1.25 ydł represent a new generation of backhoe loaders that are reliable, productive and easy to service.
The WB146-5 gets its power and fuel economy from a turbocharged Komatsu engine producing a net horsepower of 88 HP to drive Komatsu's exclusive HydrauMind hydraulic system delivering power, speed and precise control. The engine meets EPA emissions requirements and is fuel efficient without sacrificing power or productivity. The drivetrain includes a 4-speed synchro-shuttle transmission with standard four-wheel drive for greater traction in adverse soil conditions. The WB146PS-5 incorporates a full PowerShift transmission with twist grip gear control.
Special features of the WB146-5 loaders include:
o New "S" Shaped Boom
The WB146-5 features a heavy-duty one-piece welded mainframe for exceptional stability and durability. The new "S" shaped backhoe boom is narrower and stronger for superior visibility, increased lifting capacity, enhanced truck loading and excellent breakout force. Combine these features with a telescopic arm and the backhoe can achieve digging depths up to 18'4".
o Parallel Linkage For Increased Versatility
The parallel lift linkage for the front loader keeps the load level throughout the lifting and lowering cycles for safe and productive work flow, and with the optional hydraulic quick coupler you can add forks for tool carrier operations. The slim loader arms further enhance operator visibility and allow for easier truck loading. The heavy-duty cast iron nose guard provides protection for the machine and also acts as an integral counterweight.
o Extreme Operator Comfort
The operator environment is designed for maximum comfort and control and is available in either open ROPS canopy or an enclosed cab with dual entry. The climate-controlled cab has 10 vents for maximum air circulation while its round shape and one-piece rear-opening window further enhances operator comfort and visibility. The multiple seat adjustments accommodate both large and small operators and PPC excavator and loader controls provide for greater ease of operation.
