CommScope Enterprise Solutions Gives SYSTIMAX® iPatch® System a 'Universal Twist'

Both unshielded and foil twisted pairs now supported among other applications in the versatile iPatch M4200i 24-Port Intelligent Universal Modular Panel

RICHARDSON, Texas, Feb. 19 -- CommScope Enterprise Solutions, a division of CommScope, Inc. (NYSE:CTV), has introduced its new SYSTIMAX® iPatch® M4200i 24-Port Intelligent Universal Modular Panel.

The M4200i panel is the first SYSTIMAX intelligent infrastructure solution with the ability to support foil twisted pair (FTP) deployments. Designed for enterprises that have mission-critical network needs, the SYSTIMAX iPatch System uses intelligent patching technology to help cut network management costs, provide insight into the physical layer and give real-time results in order to automate change management and help prevent downtime. Now, with the introduction of the iPatch System's newest panel, customers with a preference for FTP solutions or modular panels can take advantage of the business benefits of the iPatch System.

"While the iPatch System provides network intelligence to our customers, the M4200i panel was created to give customers the versatility required to meet their network needs," said Mark Peterson, senior vice president, global marketing, CommScope Enterprise Solutions. "The newest iPatch panel puts the choice in the hands of our customers, giving them the ability to mix and match their solutions at whatever their speed of business might be."

With the universal modular panel, CommScope Enterprise Solutions also focuses on the needs of customers in specific regions of the world. In Europe, for example, FTP can be a requirement for deployment with many enterprises while in Asia, FTP can be a requirement for government agencies. The addition of an FTP-enabled patching solution gives current and future customers the system management they need to continue high-performance networking at an efficient pace.

"With this modular patch panel, we have brought FTP into the SYSTIMAX line of intelligent patching solutions without having to sacrifice the successful qualities of the original iPatch System design," Peterson said. "Forward thinking has given CommScope Enterprise Solutions the edge with many of the cabling solutions we offer. We strive to meet customer demand and provide positive additions to enterprise network infrastructures."

Customers who utilize the intelligent network infrastructure management system in their network now can configure the M4200i with a variety of copper M-Series information outlets to deploy Category 3, PowerSUM®, GigaSPEED XL® and GigaSPEED® X10D unshielded twisted pair (UTP) channels and GigaSPEED X10D foil twisted pair (FTP) channels.

The M4200i panel will initially be offered in two configurations: bare panels without modules or panels pre-configured with 24 GigaSPEED X10D FTP M-Series outlets. The panel mounts in a 19-inch (48.3 cm) rack with universal hole spacing. In addition, it incorporates rear cable management for consistent cable routing and grounding studs for reliable grounding of the cable shield for FTP applications.

CommScope Enterprise Solutions, a division of CommScope, Inc., offers a complete portfolio of network infrastructure solutions that enable enterprise customers, regardless of size, industry or IT budget, to take advantage of business and technology opportunities. The division's SYSTIMAX® and Uniprise® product lines offer voice, data, video and converged solutions ranging from mission-critical, high-bandwidth and emerging applications to applications that demand unrelenting reliability and quality for everyday needs.
