Laminator/Die Cut System helps eliminate waste.

February 15, 2008 - Smart Laminator-Die Cut System synchronizes roll lamination and die cutting operations to eliminate causes of stock and laminate production waste. With smart sensors, system can detect sheet misfeeds, sources of improper laminating, or film splices, and automatically stops system so that corrective measures can be taken. Smart start and stop lamination controls also detect missing sheets and film splices, minimizing wasted overlaminate.

Spartanics Smart Laminator-Die Cut System Now Available

Converters and plastics printers handling applications involving expensive core stocks or similarly high-priced laminate films can now significantly cut material waste costs by equipping with the newly released Spartanics Smart Laminator-Die Cut System. The state-of-art machine intelligence of the Spartanics Smart Laminator-Die Cut System tightly synchronizes roll lamination and die cutting operations such that the typical causes of stock and laminate production waste are eliminated.

The smart sensors in the Spartanics Smart Laminator-Die Cut System provide several production line advantages --

o Eliminates Waste of Core Sheets

Detects sheet misfeeds, several sources of improper laminating or film splices and automatically stops the system so that corrective measures can be taken.

o Minimizes Wasted Overlaminate

Smart start and stop lamination controls and sensors for missing sheets or film splices

o Minimizes Downtime from Laminator Fault Conditions

Detects low laminate film supply or broken laminate rolls and automatically stops system

o Only Requires Single Lightly Trained Operator

Tom O'Hara, Spartanics President, comments, "Cutting material waste costs is often one of the best ways to boost the bottom line for the growing number of converters that are using expensive overlaminate materials and high-priced substrates. Now we have taken Spartanics optically-registered die cutting technology that provides unsurpassed registration precision accuracy and married it to smart controls for laminator and sheet feeder inputs to the die cut system. Because the Spartanics Smart Laminator-Die Cut System can be operated by one single lightly trained operator it also helps converters cut labor costs or redeploy workers to other production line duties."

Spartanics equipment for die cutting, screen printing, automated counting, and other finishing of flat stock materials is considered best-in-class technology. Spartanics (www.spartanics.com) is headquartered in suburban Chicago in the United States and its worldwide service organization uses state-of-the-art virtual service technician technology and also maintains offices and spare parts in Europe.
