Rugged DC Accelerometers for Severe Environments

Measurement Specialties introduces the model 3801A and model 4801A for high performance applications. The model 3801A and 4801A are hermetically sealed accelerometers ideal for steady state and transient measurements of acceleration & shock pulses in harsh environments.

The accelerometers incorporate gas-damped MEMS sensing elements that are ideal for wide frequency response. The accelerometers are offered in ranges from ±2g to ±2000g which makes it suitable for both low-level measurements and high-end transient shock measurements. Integral over-range stops designed into the MEMS sensing element provide shock protection to over 10,000g's without affecting the unit calibration.

The model 3801A offers a mV output signal for shock pulse measurements while the model 4801A offers a signal conditioned, amplified output for low level measurements. The model 4801A incorporates a custom ASIC for high-end integral temperature compensation that provides exceptional temperature performance over a wide operating range from -55°C to +125°C.

The model 3801A and model 4801A accelerometers incorporate the popular 10-32 stud mounting and have a 5-pin side-mount connector for ease of installation. With the hermetically sealed stainless steel housing and detachable cable, these accelerometers will be suitable for a wide range of applications including flight testing, environmental testing, transportation measurements, and shock testing.
