Workholding Vises have 4 in. capacity.

February 14, 2008 - Available in manual and hydraulic models, HDL 4 in. capacity vises provide high density work holding of smaller parts on smaller machining centers. Designed on 80,000 psi ductile iron body with precision machined steel components, vises are rigid and deliver up to 6,316 lb of clamping force at 70 lb of torque and repeatable clamping to 0.0002 inch. Both models feature 2 clamping stations with full 4 in. opening in each station using Kurt's standard hard jaw system.

New Kurt 4 Inch Capacity HDL Vises Introduced

Available In Manual And Hydraulic Models For Precision High Density Workholding Of Smaller Parts

Minneapolis, Minnesota: New, Kurt Manufacturing 4 inch capacity HDL vises have been introduced for precision, high density workholding of smaller parts on smaller machining centers. Available in both manual and hydraulic models, these HDL 4 inch vises are two station, long vises providing repeatable clamping to 0.0002 inch.

Designed on an 80,000 PSI ductile iron body with precision machined steel components, these new HDL vises are extremely rigid delivering up to 6,316 lbs. of clamping force at 70 lbs. of torque. Both models provide strength, rigidity and long term accuracy while absorbing machining vibration. Both models feature two clamping stations with a full 4 inch opening in each station using Kurt's standard hard jaw system.

Additional features of the HDL manual model include: adjustable pre-load design minimizes pre-load range thus reducing the turns of the handle to open or close the vise; holding block allows clamping same or dissimilar sized parts and provides pre-loading ability in the front or back jaw; maximizes the number of parts in the work envelope and multiple part workholding provides better spindle utilization, reduced tool change time and reduced machine travel from part to part.

The HDL manual model easily converts to hydraulic operation using a simple conversion kit (HDLM4-3-SA-KIT).

"These new HDL 4 inch models are ideal for holding precise medical device, aerospace and electronic parts in smaller machining centers," reports Steve Kane, Kurt sales manager. "With two clamping stations, machinable jaw options and compact design, these vises have broad flexibility that makes possible maximum density workholding across a full range of the latest smaller machining centers."

Like all Kurt vise products, these new HDL 4 inch vises are covered by Kurt's Iron Clad Lifetime Warranty.

In addition to standard vises and accessories, Kurt provides integrated custom engineered workholding systems and custom gaging systems for automated manufacturing. Both workholding and gaging are designed around a customer's requirements with systems available for many industries including automotive, medical and aerospace applications.
