Run Bar for Two-Hand Machine Actuation Introduced

December 11, 2007

Banner Engineering Corp. has introduced the DUO-TOUCH®l run bar with STB buttons for two-hand machine actuation. The run bar interfaces with DUO-TOUCH SG two-hand control modules, SC22-3 safety controllers, and other Type IIIC control systems. The bar is designed to minimize the possibility of accidental actuation and to reduce hand, wrist, and arm stresses associated with repeated switch operation.

Two preinstalled STB touch buttons are designed to simplify installation and setup. The diverse-redundant, microcontroller-based photoelectric buttons include continuous internal self-checking. According to the company, the buttons provide high excess gain to cut through heavy contamination and are immune to ambient light, EMI, and RFI interference. They feature bright status LEDs to indicate power, output, and fault.

The bar features a 13-ga., cold-rolled steel construction. Models with an integrated emergency-stop button-along with various accessory brackets and telescoping floor-mounted stands-are available.

Designed to comply with ANSI B11.19 and ISO 13851 (EN 574) Type IIIC two-hand control requirements, the bar is suitable for general initiation of a cycle on equipment such as punch and power presses, cutting and forming machines, riveting and swaging machines, heat-staking machines, and tabletop robots. Knockouts are provided for wiring flexibility and installation of accessory EZ-LIGHT(TM) indicators. Options include telescoping stands and brackets.
