Cryovac® Grip and Tear(TM) Bag Makes Opening Package a Cinch

DUNCAN, S.C. (Oct. 24, 2007) - Sealed Air's Cryovac Food Packaging introduces a bag that combines the superior shrink, toughness and oxygen-barrier properties expected from a Cryovac® vacuum shrink bag with the addition of an easy-open feature.

Easily opened by pulling a tab, the Cryovac® Grip and Tear(TM) bag's knifeless design eliminates the mess created by opening some bags, and keeps fingers, counters and utensils clean. Not having to touch the product and safety from not using knives were key benefits cited by the participants in a series of consumer focus groups, as well as how truly easy the easy-open feature is to use.

The new Grip and Tear(TM) bag is ideal for use with a variety of non-abrasive applications and features enhanced toughness, delivering better performance under normal handling through distribution. The new bag can be used for processed meats, cheeses and a variety of fresh red meats, such as roasts.

For processors, the Grip and Tear(TM) bag doesn't require any new equipment investment and can be used with existing Cryovac® rotary chamber vacuum systems. Processors who currently use a heavier gauge bag for slightly more abusive products have a possible down-gauging opportunity by switching to the new Grip and Tear(TM) bag.

The new bag ranges from 5½ to 18 inches wide and 6 to 48 inches long, and is the only easy open, end-seal bag available in these sizes.

For more information about the Cryovac® Grip and Tear(TM) bag, call 1-800-845-3456 or visit www.gripandtear.com.
