Master Chemical Introduces New Silicated Low Foaming Liquid Cleaning Concentrate

November 8, 2007, Perrysburg, OH - Master Chemical Corporation, supplier of metalworking fluids and recycling equipment, has just released TRIM® CLEAN IP 2019s, a new high-performance, low foaming cleaning concentrate which removes straight oils and coolants from steel, cast iron, and most aluminum parts. According to Master Chemical's Product Manager, Dave Barned, TRIM CLEAN IP 2019s offers a distinct benefit-low foam at room temperature. "Energy prices are rising again and everyone is concerned about containing costs. IP 2019s doesn't need to be heated to act as a low foaming cleaner. So, if you are accustomed to keeping 1000 gallons of cleaner heated at 140ºF you can imagine the immediate savings in energy costs," stated Mr. Barned.

TRIM CLEAN IP 2019s also offers process savings. Its innovative surfactant technology causes it to reject oil, making it easy to skim or centrifuge, which prolongs the cleaner bath life. The highly concentrated product allows for lower use dilutions of 2% to 4% and operating temperatures of 70ºF (21ºC) to 160ºF (71ºC). Mr. Barned stated, "In addition to lowering energy requirements, we are able to take cost out of our customers' operations by reducing concentration usage and therefore dropping the associated transportation expenses." The cleaning concentrate is also considered an excellent choice when a single product is used for washing mixed metal batches. "CLEAN IP 2019s is a multi-metal friendly product. It cleans all metals, including brass, copper alloys, and aluminum," stated Mr. Barned.

TRIM CLEAN IP 2019s provides flash corrosion inhibition and up to two weeks of short term, dry, in-process corrosion inhibition for ferrous allows. Because IP 2019s is silicated, it also provides excellent corrosion inhibition on aluminum and brass. It is compatible with recycling equipment and is free of phenols and nitrates, has no SARA 313 or EPA 33/50 listed ingredients, and contains no butyl cellosolve.

TRIM CLEAN IP 2019s works well in high-pressure spray washers and vibratory de-burring operations. According to Master Chemical's Application Manager of Cleaners & Corrosion Inhibitors, Jennifer Rogers, "One of the common problems faced in vibratory de-burring is foam. Our most successful test sites have been vibratory de-burring sites. For example, an internal engine component manufacturer using CLEAN IP 2019s noted that the de-burring of their parts was more complete and the removal of the cutting oil was superior to the prior competitive product. Coupled with a considerable cost savings this is a win-win situation."

TRIM CLEAN IP 2019s is available in a range of sizes including one-gallon containers sold by the case, five-gallon pails, 54-gallon drums, 270-gallon recyclable bins, and tank wagon lots. The product is also available in metric containers for Europe and Asia.
