Sensors offer splice, label, and double sheet detection.
October 10, 2007 -
Measuring 8 mm in dia, IP67 protected ultrasonic thru-beam proximity sensors feature teach-in input mode and offer sensing range from 20-60 mm, with optimal sensing range of 45 mm. Splice sensors detect presence or absence of glue, splices, bondings, or base material. Label detectors are used in automatic detection of labels and carrier materials, while double sheet detectors help identify 0, 1, or 2 sheets of material with weights ranging from 10-2,000 g/m².
New Ultrasonic Splice, Label and Double Sheet Detectors Help Detect Errors, Protect Machinery and Avoid Waste
TWINSBURG, OH - Pepperl+Fuchs introduces a new family of ultrasonic thru-beam proximity sensors for splice, label and double sheet detection. Each solution is just 18mm in diameter and features a teach-in input mode for easy set-up and operation, with a detection threshold that is easily adjusted for each specific application. They are IP67 protected and provide a sensing range from 20mm - 60mm, with an optimal sensing range of 45 mm.
Splice detection systems provide a highly accurate and reliable means of detecting the presence or absence of glue, splices, bondings, or the absence of base material.
Label detectors are designed for use in all applications where automatic detection of labels and carrier materials is required, including transparent or metallic labels.
Double sheet detectors provide a highly accurate and low cost method of detecting zero, one or two sheets of material with weights from 10 g/m² to 2000 g/m². They are designed to identify mis-feeds of a wide variety of media, including paper, cardboard, thin plastic and foil.
These splice, label and double sheet detectors are insensitive to printing, colors and glossy surfaces. Changes in ambient conditions are compensated for automatically, with very high processing speeds possible.
