IOGEAR First to Ship USB-IF Certified Wireless USB End-User Solution

Hub & Adapter Kit eliminates cords without compromising data transfer speeds

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 4 -- IOGEAR today announced official availability of the Wireless USB (W-USB) Hub & Adapter Kit (GUWH104KIT), a USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) and FCC-certified solution. The product enables residential and small and home office (SOHO) users to wirelessly transfer files and data at speeds up to 480 Mbps.

IOGEAR's Hub can associate with up to three different laptops or PCs, through W-USB adapters. It also features four USB ports and connects to wired USB devices, such as printers, scanners, MP3 players and external hard drives. The Adapter plugs into the PC and wirelessly communicates with the Hub, which users can place up to 30 feet away.

With this complete W-USB solution, individuals can achieve fast wireless communication between computers and USB peripherals, enabling transmission of video, audio and picture files, as well as other high-bandwidth data, at a low power consumption rate. With the Kit, files can be transferred wirelessly, significantly reducing workstation cable clutter due to excess wiring.

The product is compatible with current and future Certified W-USB devices, and is backward interoperable with USB 1.0 solutions. Thanks to WiMedia's Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM), the Kit does not interfere with other wireless devices at home and work, including cell phones, microwaves and Bluetooth devices.
