CertainTeed Introduces PAMREX 36 in. Oversized Manhole Cover for US Municipalities
NORTHBORO, Mass., Aug. 30 -- CertainTeed, the premier provider of technically advanced municipal castings in the United States, introduces its new PAMREX 36 in. manhole cover, designed to fit oversize manholes in U.S. municipalities.
The PAMREX 36 in. has all the same excellent features as the original PAMREX, such as infiltration resistance and exceptional ergonomics for operator safety, but also answers the needs of municipalities that have built larger sized manhole openings in response to safety concerns. Made from ductile iron, an engineered material that is half the weight of traditional cast, or grey, iron, these covers also offer significant performance advantages, such as long-term durability, resistance to inflow and infiltration, and security from unauthorized access.
"What sets the PAMREX 36 in. -- and indeed all of our products-apart from the crowd is our exceptional ergonomics," explains Andy Buchan, CertainTeed PAM's North American Business Director. "Our covers are lighter because of the materials we use, which automatically makes them safer to lift and helps save operators from injury. The PAMREX 36" also features a unique hydraulic arm and a twin-hinge design that makes it easier and safer to raise and lower, allowing for one-man operation. The hinged design also requires a pickaxe or pry-bar to open the cover. When using these tools, the operator must adopt a posture that keeps the spine in a vertical position, thereby causing much less strain and helping to prevent back injuries."
Recently introduced to the American market, the PAM product line is fast becoming a leader in the design and sale of manhole covers and gratings for municipalities and utility companies. They can be obtained through our independent representatives, all of whom are listed on our website at http://pamcovers.certainteed.com/Agents.asp.
