Flux System features lead-free alloy.
August 7, 2007 -
Suited for wave, reflow, selective, and hand (cored wire) soldering, Model SN100C flux system is available in low VOC, VOC-free, and alcohol-based formulations, in solder paste form and also as paste and liquid fluxes. It has synthetic base that gives it stability under high temperatures required by lead-free alloys. Flux works well in air or under nitrogen blanket and is compatible with many different finishes, including OSP, Ni/Au, Ag, and Sn.

COBAR Solder Products Announces Flux Technology for SN100C Lead-Free Solder
July 18, 2007
Londonderry, New Hampshire, USA - Cobar Solder Products announces the availability of a new flux system designed and proven to deliver excellent results with the SN100C Lead-free alloy. The new SN100C flux system is available in low VOC, VOC-free, and alcohol-based formulations, in solder paste form and also as paste and liquid fluxes, appropriate for wave, reflow, selective, and hand (cored wire) soldering.
SN100C is a lead-free alloy that is finding increased popularity among users because it exhibits superior long-term joint reliability and durability over SAC-alloys. It has also shown superior characteristics to SAC-alloys other popular lead-free solders in terms of reduced Cu erosion of assemblies, better fluidity and drainage in wave and selective soldering, and better wettability. However, like virtually all lead-free solders, it melts at a higher temperature than lead-based solders and is therefore more difficult to wet, pushing the performance limits of currently available lead-free fluxes.
Cobar's new SN100C flux has a proprietary synthetic base that gives it stability under the higher temperatures required by lead-free alloys. The new flux works well in air or under a nitrogen blanket. It is compatible with many different finishes including OSP, Ni/Au, Ag and Sn.
Cobar is a leading global supplier of solderpastes, fluxes, and other electronics soldering materials for electronics assembly, certified to ISO/TS 16949:2002, as well as ISO 9001 and to ISO 14001. Cobar BV, founded in 1983 in Holland, is the technological center and headquarters of the Cobar Group, a multi-million dollar corporation with operations and distributors in all major areas of the world. Cobar is known in Europe as the leader in lead-free and VOC-free soldering materials.
