Emerson Introduces Turbidity Measurement in Model 1056 Instrument

Single- or Dual-Input Instrument Simplifies Operation and Maintenance and
Reduces Total Cost of Ownership for Turbidity Analysis in Potable Water
Plants

IRVINE, Calif., June 25, 2007 - Emerson Process Management today announced
that the Rosemount Analytical Model 1056 instrument, featuring enhancements,
reduced maintenance requirements and advanced diagnostics, is now available
with turbidity measurement, making it the optimum choice for potable water
plants. The Model 1056 is the new intelligent line-powered analyzer for the
Rosemount Analytical Clarity II Turbidimeter, which also includes an optical
turbidity sensor and debubbler assembly.

The new Model 1056 turbidity analyzer is now available with two new power
supply options - universal AC-driven and 24VDC. The AC-driven power supply
supports 85-265VAC 50/60Hz line conditions and provides auto-switching
capabilities for use both in the U.S. and Europe. The new AC switching power
supply and the 24VDC power supply include alarm relays with programmable
timers to allow alarms to be triggered when programmed thresholds are
reached or process events occur.

The Model 1056 is designed to significantly simplify operation and
maintenance making it ideal in water plants where tight budgets often
increase workloads on personnel. It is offered as a single- or dual-input
analyzer that reduces the cost per loop and saves space by offering an
unrestricted choice of measurements, including turbidity, pH/ORP/ISE,
conductivity, oxygen, chlorine, ozone and many other combinations. It is
easy to use and features the largest high-contrast LCD display available on
a line-powered instrument, making the display exceptionally easy to read
even from a distance. The instrument also offers intuitive menu screens and
seven programmed languages, including the new addition of Chinese language
user menus. Four process variables, or diagnostic parameters, are displayed
simultaneously from every screen, giving operators useful process
information at a glance. The placement of variables on the screen is easily
customized based on the user's requirements. When changing screens, the
simple, intuitive, plain-English menus and help-screens make operation easy
without need for manuals or instructions. No more than three button pushes
are required for any operation. In addition, the modular design of the
instrument allows signal input boards to be field-replaced making
configuration changes easy.

Featuring advanced embedded diagnostics, the Model 1056 analyzer
continuously monitors itself and the sensor(s) for problematic conditions
and alerts operators to problems that may occur. A push of the diagnostics
button reveals PlantWeb alert troubleshooting and maintenance messages, and
help-screens guide the user in troubleshooting.

"The addition of turbidity analysis to our Model 1056 product line is
significant and enables Emerson to continue to be the single-source provider
of the most advanced and easy-to-use analysis technologies for potable water
plants, as well as a broad range of industrial processing applications,"
said John Wright, vice president of marketing, Rosemount Analytical Liquid
Division of Emerson Process Management. "We built the new 1056 instrument
based on the real-world demands of plant operators for ease of use, reduced
maintenance and improved total cost of ownership in today's environment of
declining budgets, staffing and resources."

The Emerson Model 1056 turbidity analyzer can be ordered starting in July
2007.
