Accordent Announces HD Support for Accordent Capture Station(TM)

Enables Clients to Extend HD Experience to Online Users via Industry's first Automated HD Multimedia Presentation Technology

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 19 -- Accordent Technologies, Inc. today announced the industry's first automated multimedia presentation solution that enables online audiences to experience high-definition (HD) video and visuals via live and on-demand webcasts.

Initially available with the Accordent Capture Station(TM), the company's turnkey presentation capture and publishing appliance, the new HD capabilities enable clients to capture, encode and play out HD video or HD-projected visuals in the 16x9 resolution required by HD-enabled LCD and plasma screens.

Accordent will showcase the capability for the first time at the InfoComm07 Exhibition as part of its end-to-end rich media creation and management product line. The HD demonstration will include an HD-enabled Accordent Capture Station ingesting HD video inputs, encoding the video into 16x9 resolution and outputting high-quality streams for both playback and archive.

The workflow will include the automatic capture, live publication, and archiving of HD-resolution content. The HD-enabled Accordent Capture Station also enables clients to capture HD video directly from HD cameras and the ability to capture visuals shown on HD-enabled projectors.

"Our training and distance learning clients have been the first to adopt HD technology for the exceptional clarity it adds to medical and scientific procedural demonstrations," said Mike Newman, CEO of Accordent Technologies. "Adding HD support to our rich media creation products enables them to extract even greater value from their HD investments by extending the improved visual experience to the widest possible community of online viewers," he said.

"Our clients will welcome this first-time ability to deliver an end-to-end HD experience from their in-room HD cameras and projectors to remote HD-enabled monitors and laptops," said Jay Rogina, CEO of Spinitar, a leading systems integrator of audiovisual communications technologies. "Solutions like Accordent's now enable them to easily integrate HD visuals and video within a rich media presentation format."

The new support showcases the versatility of Accordent's standards-based enterprise architecture to accommodate the latest advances in digital media and streaming technologies. Accordent's open systems platform ensures that clients can deploy rich media communications across the enterprise by leveraging existing hardware, cameras, smart room technologies and network and IT systems.

Accordent's award-winning rich media product line includes the Accordent Capture Station(TM), a room-based automated capture solution; Accordent PresenterPRO(TM), Accordent's professional-grade live webcasting solution; and Accordent Engage(TM), an enterprise-wide enhanced audio webcasting system. These scalable and modular products all integrate with the Accordent Media Management System(TM), which provides the first centralized online communications management infrastructure for ingesting, organizing, searching, publishing and securing multi-level access to Accordent presentations and other multimedia communications -- including archived web- and video-conferences.
