OPTEX Introduces New Wireless Outdoor PIR Detector

June 12, 2007 - OPTEX INC., a leading manufacturer of security products announces the release of BX-80NR, a battery-operated outdoor PIR intrusion detector. It is designed to protect the immediate perimeter of the building for the purpose of early warning, i.e. before an intruder breaks into the premises.

The BX-80NR is quick and easy to install. The unit requires no complicated wiring so it saves installation time. The BX-80NR is designed to be effective with any manufacture's transmitter and receiver, so it can easily be added to an existing wireless system.

In addition, the BX-80NR's unique detection performance reduces false alarms. It creates a narrow 24m long detection area (12m on each side) and uses two double-layered detection patterns (upper and lower). Both detection areas have to be activated to generate an alarm. This detection logic provides high detection reliability in severe outdoor environments.

This product should not be installed in areas where there are obstacles such as bay windows in the detection area.

If obstacles are unavoidable, we recommend using the BA-1W multi-angle wall-mount bracket

The BA-1W can also be used for BX-80N hard wired model. In that case, optional SP-2 spacer is required.
