Uhlmann Introduces Modular UPS 5 Blister Machine

Next Generation of World's Best-Selling Blister Machine

Designed to Package Syringes, Ampoules, Patches and More

TOWACO, NJ - Uhlmann, the worldwide leader in blister packaging technology, now offers the modular UPS 5 Blister Machine with a maximum output of 400 blisters per minute. It combines many of the advantages of the Uhlmann UPS 4 (the world's best-selling blister machine) with new technology and innovative components. One of the main advantages of the UPS 5 is that it is compatible with tooling for the UPS 4, enabling customers to use existing tooling.

The UPS 5 uses different modes of operation to package solid and liquid products and is characterized by its large format area and deep forming depth of up to 40 mm. This flexibility means the UPS 5 is most effective for packaging liquid-filled devices such as syringes, ampoules, patches, tropical blisters and all-aluminum blisters. It can also be used for packaging solids and for processing plastics.

Additional components and features of the Uhlmann UPS 5 Blister Machine include:
o Central touch screen with 3-D visualization
o Quick, no-tool format changeovers
o All stations can be installed separately
o Universal forming station accommodates all types of forming materials
o Different feeding systems can be integrated
o Cutting edge technology guarantees reliability during heating, sealing, embossing, perforating and punching
o Servo-driven indexes and blister transfer
o Innovative sliding door enhances accessibility for easier cleaning and reduced noise levels.

Uhlmann has its U.S. headquarters in Towaco, New Jersey. With products that include blister machines, cartoning systems, line-monitoring and control systems, and downstream packaging machinery, the company provides the North American pharmaceutical industry with sales support, service technicians, on-site training, parts inventory, tool manufacturing and rebuilt machinery, and on-site engineering for line integrations.
