June 26, 2007 - Model VBUS054B 4-line diode array protects dual high-speed USB ports or up to 4 other high-frequency signal lines against transient voltage signals up to 15 kV. It features typical leakage current of less than 0.1 µA at maximum working voltage of 5 V. Bus port-protection array offers breakthrough voltage of 6.5 V at 1 mA, and maximum clamping voltage of 15 V at 3 A. Array comes in leadless LLP75 package with 1.6 x 1.6 mm footprint and ultra-low profile of 0.6 or 0.75 mm.

Device Features 0.6-mm and 0.75-mm Height Profile Options for Space Savings in Portable Electronics

MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA June 13, 2007 Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the release of a compact new 4-line ESD-protection array designed to protect dual high-speed USB ports or up to four other high-frequency signal lines against transient voltage signals up to 15kV.

The new array is packaged in the leadless LLP75, with a 1.6-mm by 1.6-mm footprint and an ultra-low profile of 0.6mm (VBUS054B-HSF) or 0.75mm (VBUS054B-HS3) to minimize the board space required for active ESD protection in a wide range of portable electronic systems, including portable and handheld computing, communications, industrial, automotive, and medical applications.

The new device features a low capacitance of <1pF and a low typical leakage current of <0.1µA at the maximum working voltage of 5V. The ESD protection array offers a breakthrough voltage of typical 6.5V (at 1 mA), and a maximum clamping voltage of 15V at 3A.

The VBUS054B provides transient protection for one data line as per IEC6100042 (ESD) at 15kV (air and contact discharge) and IEC6100045 (lightning) from 3A (tp=8/20µs). It is also compliant with RoHS2002/95/EC and WEEE2002/96/EC.

Samples of the new ESD bus port-protection array in the compact LLP75 package are available now. Production quantities will be available in Q2 2007, with lead times of ten to twelve weeks for large orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery is $15.00/100 pieces.
