Phihong Develops GUI Console for SNMP-Capable Midspans

FREMONT, Calif. (April 30, 2007) - Phihong, a global leader in Power-over-Ethernet solutions, has developed a GUI (graphical user interface) console for use with its Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)-capable midspans. The GUI console allows network administrators to remotely monitor and reset devices in any location with internet access.

"Previously, customers could only use our SNMP-capable midspans if they were compatible with their own SNMP management consoles," said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA. "By developing our own GUI console, we are now able to provide the complete package for remote monitoring and control, without compatibility being a concern."

Available in, 8-, 16- and 24-port versions, Phihong's manageable midspans provide 15.4W of power per port for VoIP phones, security cameras and access points. Phihong midspans provide full power to all ports simultaneously, so there is no need to calculate and manage device priorities.

Phihong's midspans are a cost-effective, easy-to-implement solution for powering VoIP applications. Phihong's midspans give VoIP systems full power as soon as they are plugged in and turned on, with no complex set-up process required.

Pricing for the GUI consoles for SNMP-capable midspans is $695 for one piece. The products are available from stock at www.midspans.com. A detailed specification is available on the Web site at http://www.phihong.com/html/midspans.html.

Phihong is one of the leading suppliers of power solutions to networking OEMs, including power supplies, adapters and Power-over-Ethernet products. With global sales for 2007 expected to exceed $500 million, Phihong has engineering and manufacturing facilities in North and South America, Taiwan and mainland China.
