New FM9 Conduit Bodies Leverage Larger Interior for Increased Wiring Capacity

ROSEMONT, IL, MAY 9, 2007 - Appleton has expanded its Unilet® fittings line to include new FM9(TM) aluminum conduit bodies designed to help electricians better tackle a wide range of jobs encountered when installing conduit runs, from pulling wire to connecting branch runs.

Available in seven different configurations in ½-inch to 4-inch trade sizes, the FM9 features a generous, oversized wiring cavity, along with a domed cover for maximum wiring capacity. This forward-thinking design is complimented by full interchangeability with competitive bodies, gaskets and covers, an important benefit during retrofit jobs.

Among its performance-driven, time-saving features are:

o stainless steel pan-head cover screws captive for reduced loss

o accurately tapped, tapered threads to assure tight, rigid joints and excellent ground continuity,

o smooth, rounded integral bushings in the hubs to protect conductors

o and an epoxy-free, uncoated finish ideal for broad application use.

Each FM9 is forged from high-quality copper-free aluminum for lightweight mounting and superior corrosion resistance. Two covers are available: a stamped aluminum cover that delivers a rain-tight fit when coupled with a separate neoprene gasket, and a Formtite(TM) Stamped Aluminum Cover with Integral Gasket.

FM9 conduit bodies, covers and gaskets are suitable for Class I, Division 2 applications. For more information, please call 800-621-1506 or visit www.appletonelec.com.
