The GoWire auto-launch cable will be available across regional markets through Intmark Distribution, SMART's authorised distributor for the Middle East. The GoWire cable is a specially designed software-enabled USB cable that automatically launches SMART Board software when connected to a computer and a SMART Board interactive whiteboard or Sympodium interactive pen display.
The cable gives users immediate access to SMART Board software in multi-use presentation spaces such as auditoriums, lecture halls and meeting rooms, where laptops rather than desktops are often the norm. Educators, trainers and presenters simply connect their laptop to a SMART Board interactive whiteboard, plug in the launch cable and present. They can write over applications and save their notes and presentation files as usual. Users without a laptop can plug the cable into the room computer.
For IT staff and administrators, especially in large institutions with many rooms to manage, the GoWire cable can reduce maintenance and updating time because software does not have to be installed on hundreds of laptops or desktops. The GoWire cable is compatible with both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.
