Composite Software adds SOA Data Services for SAP BW to Company's Popular Line
Data Services Enable Customers to Accelerate SOA and Reporting Projects that Require SAP Information
SAN MATEO, Calif. - November 6, 2006 - Continuing the success of its data services for popular applications such as SAP, Siebel, Oracle E-Business Suite and Salesforce.com, Composite Software, Inc. today released its newest Composite Application Data Services(TM) for SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW). Customers can now bring forward historical information from SAP BW and other existing systems into a service-oriented environment. These reusable services, which leverage Composite's award winning Enterprise Information Integration (EII) technology, help enterprises simplify access to complex packaged applications, and thereby accelerate dashboard, single-view, ad-hoc reporting and service-oriented architecture (SOA) projects. Composite Software is the only Data Services solutions company to provide pre-built data services for the world's most commonly used packaged applications.
Composite Application Data Services for SAP BW allow more users to easily access SAP BW data. Additionally, SAP BW data can be combined with data from disparate sources and delivered as reusable data services to enable users to easily build operational reports and other business-critical information applications. Composite Application Data Services for SAP BW access data with vendor-approved Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs) using SQL, eliminating the weeks and/or months of coding typically associated with these projects.
Feature highlights offered by Composite Application Data Services for SAP BW
include:
o Service-enabled SAP BW - Enterprises can now publish views into SAP BW as SOA data services with just a few clicks of the mouse. This includes automated WSDL generation.
o No MDX - Access SAP BW with SQL-92 syntax. Multi-dimensional concepts such as Slicers and Hierarchical Ordering are fully supported.
o InfoAreas and InfoObjects - Access BW InfoProviders, Query Cubes and Hierarchies.
o Non-invasive Access - Does not require transports to install, and there is no reconfiguration necessary.
o Data Integrity - Enforce defined user authentication and visibility rules.
All access points are SAP-sanctioned Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
o Time-Dependent Queries - View historical snapshots of data from any point in time.
o Flexible Queries - Leverage execution options such as "leafNodes,"
"allNodes," "orderBreaksHierarchy," "keyDate," "includeEmptyRows" and "includeEmptyColumns" to extract the required data from SAP BW.
Examples of typical projects that benefit from Composite Application Data Services include operational dashboards that combine long-term trends from SAP BW with status information from mySAP. Other projects include call center applications requiring a single view of customer data from Siebel and Salesforce.com; inventory visibility systems requiring data from SAP and Oracle E-Business Suite; and pharmaceutical drug discovery R&D requiring data from SAP as well as in-house scientific data sources.
"The data locked inside SAP is extremely valuable," said Robert Eve, vice president of marketing at Composite Software. "SAP BW is a great first step in delivering this data, thereby enabling businesses to compete more effectively. Composite Data Services for SAP BW provides the next big step by enabling this data to be combined with other non-SAP data in a service-oriented approach that accelerates competitive responsiveness. Only Composite delivers this advantage."
Composite Application Data Services for SAP BW are available immediately from Composite Software. Composite Application Data Services, formerly named Composite Application Views, require the Composite Information Server (CIS). Pricing is based on required processing power and size of deployment.
