BETTER INDUSTRIAL MACHINE PROTECTION WITH COMITRONIC’S MASSIMOTTO CODED MAGNETIC SAFETY SWITCH WITH BUILT-IN CONNECTOR

Chicago, November 6, 2006 COMITRONIC, safety equipment specialist, has just expanded its machine safety switch range. The latest model, Massimotto, is a tamperproof, contactless, coded, magnetic switch with an integrated M12 connector. It is rated category 3 or 4 under the European standard EN 954-1 for safety-related parts of control systems. It can be used in all sectors and is particularly suitable for the food processing industry.

The Massimotto switch is fitted with an Acotom® process, which is a fully electronic, tamperproof, magnet-based decoding system specifically designed to protect dangerous machines. This device is an innovative technological concept and an easy-to-use replacement for mechanical locking systems. The single or dual M12 connector can be used to connect switches in series on machines, meaning quick and easy fitting on all 1- or 1.8-in. (25- or 45-mm) aluminium profiles.

The LED is viewed on translucent area on the face of the switch. It is resistant to shocks and vibrations. Its cover protecting the mounting screws ensures that it is doubly tamperproof.

The Massimotto range consists of two switches: the stand-alone and the non-autonomous switch. The stand-alone switch, rated Category 3 under the standard EN 954-1, operates without a safety module. The non-autonomous switch, rated Category 4 under the standard EN 954-1, must be combined with COMITRONIC’s AWAX safety module.

The Acotom® process complies with UL/CSA standards and is TÃƒV-certified.
