Sturdy DualGuard(TM) Fluorescent Lamp Recycling Delivers Added Protection and Convenient Compliance Tracking

October 12, 2006-Mankato, MN-Mercury Waste Solutions, Inc. announces its LampTracker® DualGuard(TM) fluorescent lamp recycling system for short-term storage, shipping and recycling of mercury-containing fluorescent lamps. The easy-to-assemble, easy-to-use container features a sturdy, dual box design that is much stronger than other containment systems, which include only a plastic bag for interior protection. DualGuard is also ideal for less-than-pallet-load retrofit and relamp projects.

The LampTracker DualGuard system is ideal for retail stores and businesses looking for an easy way to comply with Environmental Protection Agency regulations for the proper storage and recycling of hazardous mercury waste. LampTracker DualGuard provides added protection to employees and customers against spent lamps that are easily broken during storage and transportation.

Customers can order the prepaid containers on the LampTracker website (www.lamptracker.com). Boxes arrive ready for easy assembly and include simple instructions in English and Spanish for the proper storage of spent lamps. An interior box provides extra protection while allowing for faster loading and maximum load capacity versus bag-in-box systems.

Especially significant, LampTracker DualGuard offers a unique online tracking system that allows users to arrange shipping and track containers ordered, recycled and outstanding to assure compliance for one facility or hundreds.

Users can also immediately identify non-compliance within their facilities and take corrective action. This system includes pre-paid shipping, and eliminates sorting and counting, messy storage, scheduling of shipments and tracking of paperwork. An on-line Certificate of Recycling is automatically emailed to the user once recycling is complete.

LampTracker DualGuard containers are available for 4, 6 and 8-foot fluorescent lamps, ubent lamps and compacts. Mercury Waste Solutions also offers customized systems including automatic container replenishment, notifications, documentation and much more.

BACKGROUND
The greatest risk from mercury exposure is in the accumulation and storage of spent lamps that are easily broken, exposing employees and customers to the dangers of mercury poisoning. Recent studies have linked mercury exposure to increased risk of heart attacks in men, lower IQs and autism in children, and to dangerous levels of mercury in the blood of women of childbearing age. A recent study of exposure to broken "low-mercury" lamps by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection entitled "Release of Mercury from Broken Fluorescent Bulbs" demonstrated that elevated airborne levels of mercury could exist in the vicinity of recently broken bulbs, and under certain conditions, mercury concentration could exceed occupational exposure limits. The LampTracker System is USDOT/United Nations certified safe for hazardous material.

Mercury Waste Solutions, Inc. is the nation's largest recycler and processor of mercury waste, with a significant customer base including numerous Fortune 500 companies in retail, commercial and industrial markets. They are headquartered in Mankato, Minnesota with state-of-the-art processing plants in Roseville, MN and Union Grove, WS.
