Pressure Transmitter operates in subsea environments.

October 25, 2006 - Housed in welded duplex stainless steel, Model SST3000 differential pressure transmitter operates to depths of 10,000 ft and pressures up to 10,000 psi. Use of silicon crystal sensor technology makes unit accurate to ±0.075% of span and stable to ±0.1 of upper range limit/year. Large bore, self-draining ports minimize hydrate formation, and dual compartment design with glass-to-metal seal facilitates oil-filled harness termination.

Ametek Solartron ISA Offers Best Performing Deepwater Differential Pressure Transmitter

SST3000 DP Transmitter Developed for Demanding Subsea Applications

Shildon, County Durham, UK - Operating subsea to depths of 10,000 feet (3000 meters) and pressures up to 10,000 psi (689 bar), the SST3000 is the best performing deep water differential pressure transmitter on the market. Its unique silicon crystal sensor technology guarantees high accuracy measurement and long-term stability.

The SST3000 is accurate to ±0.075% of span and stable to ±0.1 of upper range limit/year. Inside a sealed vacuum shell is two H-shaped resonators etched either side of a single crystal diaphragm chip. When pressure is applied, the resonant frequency of each changes according to whether it is in compression or tension, and the difference between the frequencies is a measure of the differential pressure. This technique is four times more sensitive than traditional piezoresistive sensor technology used in similar products.

Small and light, yet built for long-term use in the hostile deep subsea environment, the SST3000 housing is fully welded duplex stainless steel. Large bore, self-draining ports minimize hydrate formation and a dual compartment design with a glass-to-metal seal provides secondary containment and facilitates oil-filled harness termination.

The SST3000 is fully tested to rigorous standards appropriate to the harsh subsea environment, including hyperbaric pressure, electrical and EMC, shock and vibration, and temperature soak and cycling. It meets the highest international standards, including API 6A / ISO 10423, ASME IX, ISO 13628-6 and IEC 6100-4.

Solarton ISA, a business unit of AMETEK Process & Analytical Instruments, has set the industry standard with its SST family of subsea measurement instrumentation. Used by the leading exploration companies in the oil and gas industry, SST products have an unsurpassed field service history, even in the most demanding and hostile installation environments.

Solartron ISA designs and manufactures flow measurement devices for the oil and gas industry, including its patented Dualstream® Wet Gas meters, which are able to differentiate between liquid and gas flows in an on-line, real-time process for flow metering at the well-head or transmission pipeline.

Solartron ISA is a unit of AMETEK, Inc., a leading diversified manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices with annualized sales of more than $1.6 billion.
