October 18, 2006 - Model ZPA3436-5W amplifier operates over 3.4-3.6 GHz band with typical gain of 46 dB and 37 dBm OFDM output power for 64 QAM, 3/4 Coding, 3.5 MHz channel bandwidth, and 256 carriers. Biased at 28 V, high linearity power amplifier achieves EVM performance of 2% at 37 dBm linear output power, and draws 3.5 A dc current. Design is lead free and SMA connectorized package measures 9 x 4 x 1.5 in. without external heat sink.

High Linearity 5 W Power Amplifier for WiMAX Base Station Applications


Featuring: 2% EVM, 5 W output power, 64 QAM, 3/4 Coding, 802.16 applications

SAN DIEGO, September 8, 2006: Z-Communications, Inc. proudly announces the introduction of high linearity power amplifier (5W average) for emerging 802.16 WiMAX Base Station applications. The first in the series of power amplifier products for WiMAX, ZPA3436-5W, operates over 3.4-3.6 GHz band with the typical gain of 46 dB and 37 dBm OFDM output power for 64 QAM, 3/4 Coding, 3.5 MHz channel bandwidth, 256 carriers.

The superior design incorporating the latest in high power device technology, achieves Error Victor Magnitude (EVM) performance of 2% at 37 dBm linear output power. The power amplifier is biased at 28 V and draws about 3.5A DC current. The design is lead free and the SMA connectorized package measures only 9" x 4" x1.5" typical without external heat sink.
