Diode Laser suits biomedical and optical media applications.

September 28, 2006 - Model iFLEX2000(TM) fiber-coupled laser delivers 30 mW at 405 nm with TEM00 Gaussian beam. Laser uses forward closed loop power control that is immune to optical feedback and offers long-term stable output and low short-term amplitude noise. Laser beam conditioning is performed using singlemode fiber that acts as spatial filter while also providing means of flexible beam delivery.

30mW 405nm Diode Laser with Gaussian Beam

Hamble, UK., 25 Aug. 06 - Point Source has launched a higher power version of their iFLEX2000(TM) fiber-coupled laser. The product is the only commercially available laser on the market that delivers 30mW at 405nm with a TEM00 true Gaussian beam.

The laser beam conditioning is performed using a singlemode fiber which acts as the ideal spatial filter whilst also providing a means of flexible beam delivery. By designing the laser in this way, beam astigmatism and spatial noise normally associated with collimated diode lasers is eliminated.

Point Source also claim that the laser is unique in employing a forward closed loop power control which is immune to optical feedback, thus providing an long-term ultra-stable output and extremely low short-term amplitude noise.

The new laser is primarily targeted at biomedical applications such as flow cytometry and fluorescence imaging, however due to the TEM00 true Gaussian nature of the beam, the laser is also ideal for optical media applications where spot size and resolution are critical.
