September 8, 2006 - Loss-In-Weight Portable Bin Unloaders allow accurate discharging and metering of material stored and transported in side or bottom discharge portable bins. Weighing is done through low deflection, non-wearing Force Measurement Suspension System (FMSS)flexure scale which measures vertical loading and can take high load directed overloads. FMSS scale design uses counterweights to negate tare weight of support structure, feeder, and bin.

Thayer Scale-Hyer Industries Loss-In-Weight Portable Bin Unloader Offers Accuracy and Flexibility


Pembroke, MA... Thayer Scale has introduced a line of Loss-In-Weight Portable Bin Unloaders. This unique design allows for accurately discharging and metering of material stored and transported in either side or bottom discharge portable bins. The system can be configured for either continuous loss in weight feeding or batch.

Weighing is done through Thayer's patented low deflection, non-wearing FMSS (Force Measurement Suspension System) flexure scale which measures vertical loading and can take high load directed overloads (1,000%). The FMSS Scale design uses counterweights to negate the tare weight of the support structure, feeder and bin. 100% of the scale capacity is thus used to weigh material, resulting in the best possible weight signal resolution.
