Oxygen Saturation Monitor is suited for home therapy.

September 6, 2006 - Models PULSOX-300 and PULSOX-300i wristwatch-style pulse oximeters non-invasively measure amount of O2 in arterial blood (SpO2), as well as pulse rate, by projecting light through fingertip, eliminating need to extract blood. Memory has capacity for storing up to 300 hr of data, and single AAA battery provides approximately 30 hr of continuous measurement.

Konica Minolta Introduces the Oxygen Saturation Monitor PULSOX-300 and PULSOX-300i

RAMSEY, N.J., July 31 / -- Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc. (KMSA) introduces the Oxygen Saturation Monitor PULSOX-300 and PULSOX- 300i, compact, lightweight wristwatch-style pulse oximeters that can non- invasively measure the amount of oxygen in arterial blood (SpO2 -- arterial blood oxygen saturation level) and pulse rate continuously, making it ideal for home therapy. The PULSOX-300i has a memory function with the capacity to store up to a maximum of 300 hours of SpO2 and pulse rate data.

Pulse oximeters measure the amount of oxygen in arterial blood (SpO2) as well as the pulse rate by projecting light through a fingertip, eliminating the need to extract blood for such measurements. They are widely used in operating rooms or intensive-care units of hospitals and for ward or outpatient care for internal medicine, respiratory medicine, and circulatory medicine.

"The PULSOX-300 and 300i are wristwatch-style pulse oximeters that continuously monitor blood oxygen saturation levels as the patient goes about his or her daily routine wearing the product, instead of only measurements taken by the doctor in a patient interview," said Takaaki Saito, PULSOX product manager, KMSA. Operation is extremely simple: Attach the PULSOX-300 or 300i to the wrist, attach a probe to a fingertip, and press the power button.

The PULSOX-300i memory function enables data to be recorded during sleep by simply attaching the unit and probe before going to bed and pressing the power button, so it is ideal for screening (diagnosis of susceptibility) for sleep apnea syndrome. Further, it is also designed for long-term continuous measurement, with a single AAA-size battery providing approximately 30 hours of measurements.
