Emerson Introduces Extreme Temperature Coriolis Meters
Special design makes Micro Motion flowmeters the highest rated available for extreme process temperatures
BOULDER, COLORADO (June 31, 2006) -- Expanding its family of high temperature Coriolis meters, Emerson Process Management has introduced extreme temperature Micro Motion® meters that offer even higher reliability and performance for tough applications. With an extreme process temperature rating of up to 800F (427C), the Micro Motion Coriolis meters are now the highest rated temperature Coriolis meters available.
Previously, extreme high temperature applications had few good flowmeter options. As a solution, the new Micro Motion Coriolis meters are equipped with heat-tolerant components throughout the sensor body, providing protection of the meters as the body quickly rises to the same temperature as the process. Transmitters are located remote from the sensor at the end of an Emerson supplied flexible conduit/cable. Some examples where high temperature Micro Motion Coriolis is especially suited include:
o High temperature custody transfer applications such as asphalt loading. Having a highly accurate Micro Motion Coriolis meter available where only lower-accuracy meters were available before eliminates over- and under- billing customers or suppliers.
o High temperature petrochemical processing, refining and upstream oil and gas processing benefit from Micro Motion Coriolis meter performance that improves mass balance and optimizes processes, resulting in reduced costs, improved finished product yields, and reduced scrap.
The extreme high temperature capability combines with process industry leading flow measurement capability and performance. All advantages are available with the Micro Motion Coriolis family from Emerson which offers the broadest flow range and construction to measure mass and volume flow, density, concentration, and temperature of liquids, gases and slurries.
The new extreme temperature Micro Motion Coriolis meters are part of Emerson's broad range of intelligent, digital field devices that power the PlantWeb® digital plant architecture to improve plant efficiency by 2% and more through delivering asset optimization, process automation, and management execution. Further cost savings, increased plant availability, and enhanced safety and environmental compliance are achieved when the meters are integrated into the PlantWeb® architecture.
