April 3, 2002 - Model 200 BTA system has drilling capacity of 2.5 in. dia and 84 in. effective drilling depth. It is equipped with special refrigeration for proper coolant temperature control. Counter-rotation of workpiece helps system attain close tolerances. System drills nickel-base Inconel 600 and 700 series workpieces at penetration rate of 1.5 in./min.

New Deep Hole Drilling System Provides Extremely Close Tolerances
Kent, OH: TechniDrill Systems, Inc., a global manufacturer of deep hole drilling systems, has recently introduced the Model 200 BTA system with previously unattainable close tolerance capabilities.
The Model 200 has a drilling capacity of 2.5 inches in diameter and an 84" effective drilling depth. It is equipped with special refrigeration for proper coolant temperature control.
Because the Model 200 employs counter-rotation of the workpiece the system attains extremely close tolerances. In one aerospace application, the Model 200 drilled nickel-base Inconel 600 and 700 series workpieces at a penetration rate of 1.5 inches per minute. This penetration rate represented an improvement in rates of about 600% (from .250 inches per minute to 1.5 inches per minute).
According to James Sundberg, Vice President of TechniDrill, the Model 200 not only improved productivity and reduced costs, but also drilled the most accurate holes ever attained.
