Lumex Introduces "Intelligent" 10-Segment LED Array
PALATINE, IL--Lumex Inc. is announcing its new "Intelligent" 10-Segment LED Array. This completely integrated unit includes ten horizontally-lit bars plus programmable driver circuitry, all mounted on a mini circuit board which can either be plugged into a connector or soldered directly into a circuit. Lumex's Intelligent 10-Segment LED Array is a linear-scaled display that's ideal for OEMs designing power, voltage, or VU meters in applications such as process control panels, consumer audio equipment and professional sound equipment.
This assembly has ten horizontal 1.27 x 4.06mm (0.050 x 0.160") windows. Lumex can provide virtually any color--or combination of colors--of LED technology available. The programmable on-board driver allows the intensity of the individual bars to be adjusted electronically.
This driver also accepts a control signal to change the display from a "bar graph" type, to a "moving dot" type.
Lumex's Intelligent 10-Segment LED Array is packaged on a circuit board measuring 50.55x 21.59mm (1.99 x 0.85"), and has 12 gold-plated contacts along its lower edge. It is equipped with two 3.05mm (0.12") mounting holes, should a particular application call for mounting the display using screws or fasteners. The unit accepts an analog signal input, and it operates from a single voltage power supply. Depending on the LED chip selected, the entire unit can operate on a supply voltage of 3 to 15VDC.
These arrays are now in production, but since they're available with a virtually limitless number of color choices, there are no "standard products" in stock. Samples of some configurations may be in stock. Otherwise, samples can be produced to meet a specific design requirement.
Production quantities are available in 8 - 10 weeks, with pricing ranging from $5.00 each to $9.00 each, depending on color(s) specified and quantity ordered.
