Bomag Unveils New BPH80/65S Remote-Operated Reversible Plate Compactor

KEWANEE, Ill. - BOMAG Light Equipment introduces the new BPH80/65S remote-operated reversible plate compactor. With hydraulic travel and vibration control, high compactive performance and a low center of gravity and operating height, the unit is designed to deliver optimum results on both granular and mixed soil compaction applications such as construction backfill and trenches.

The hydraulic travel and vibration control system provides responsive steering capabilities through a standard umbilical remote, allowing the operator to remain safely out of the trench. An optional wireless radio remote is also available for additional working range.

The 1,620-pound BPH80/65S delivers 18,000 pounds of centrifugal force at 3,000 vibrations per minute and reaches working speeds up to 91.9 feet per minute. Standard wear strips increase operating width from 25.6 to 31.5 inches. Optional side extension plates increase width to 37.4 inches.

Powered by a 15.4-horsepower, air-cooled Hatz 1D9OW diesel engine, the BPH80/65S uses only six-tenths of a gallon of fuel per hour. Its 2.6-gallon fuel tank provides more than four hours of continuous operation.

Engineered with a low center of gravity and operating height, the BPH80/65S is extremely stable and ideal for operation in reduced-ceiling and confined environments. A fold-down lift bar and horizontal engine mount further reduce overall operating height.

The base plate on the BPH80/65S is constructed of high-quality, wear-resistant GGG60-grade graphite cast iron for long service life. The high-strength, armored hood of heavy-duty steel provides real protection against tough on-site conditions and during transport. Loading and unloading of the plate is simple with a single, balanced lifting point. In addition, the engine cover and dashboard can be locked to deter vandalism.
